EcoCash Holdings Zimbabwe Limited has announced plans to rebrand as TN CyberTech Investments Holdings Limited, in a strategic shift reflecting its new ownership and future business direction.
The name change, set to be confirmed at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Friday, 13 June 2025, follows a major restructuring that took place in April 2024.
As part of a Scheme of Reconstruction, EcoCash Holdings transferred its fintech businesses, EcoCash (Pvt) Ltd and VAYA Technologies, to Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited. Following the transaction, Steward Bank Limited became the company’s sole remaining subsidiary.
The rebranding has been influenced by TN Asset Management Nominees, which acquired a controlling stake in Steward Bank. This change in ownership has brought about a shift in leadership and strategic focus.
According to the company, continuing to operate under the EcoCash Holdings name could cause confusion, as the EcoCash brand is still closely associated with Econet Wireless Zimbabwe’s mobile money platform.
The new name, TN CyberTech Investments Holdings Limited, is designed to capture the company’s vision of integrating advanced cyber technologies into the financial sector.
Future plans include the rollout of tech-driven financial services such as virtual banking, automated branches, and social media-based transactions.
A circular has been issued to shareholders, detailing the name change and outlining the EGM agenda. The meeting will be held virtually at 10:00 AM (Zimbabwean time) on 13 June 2025, where shareholders will vote on the proposed rebrand.
If approved, the name change will take effect upon registration with the Registrar of Companies, and trading under the new name will begin on 23 July 2025.
A final announcement confirming the change is expected on 15 July 2025, with the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange set to update the company’s alpha code and ISIN accordingly.
The company has assured shareholders that the rebrand will not affect their legal rights, financial holdings, or trading activities.
The move marks a new chapter for Steward Bank, under the leadership of Tawanda Nyambirai, whose initials TN are reflected in the new name, symbolising a future focused on innovation, technology, and strategic growth.
