Car Rams Into Crowd At Liverpool Victory Parade, 47 Injured

At least 27 people have been hospitalised after a car drove into a crowd of Liverpool FC fans during a Premier League victory parade in Liverpool’s city centre on Monday evening, injuring a total of 47 people, including four children.

The incident occurred just after 5 PM GMT, shortly after the football team had passed by in an open-top bus, celebrating their season with supporters lining the streets.

Footage circulating on social media shows a car weaving erratically through a densely packed crowd of fans, many dressed in Liverpool FC merchandise. Several people were struck and thrown into the air by the impact.

After the car came to a stop, members of the crowd, visibly angry, rushed towards the vehicle and smashed its windows. Police intervened to prevent further violence and to secure the driver.

Police have arrested a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area, believed to have been behind the wheel.

Police have not released further details about the driver or a possible motive, but confirmed that the incident is not being treated as terrorism.

Of the 47 injured, 20 sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The remaining 27 were taken to the hospital, with two people, including a child, reported to have serious injuries.
