DStv Zimbabwe Announces Price Changes Effective 1 June 2025

South African pay-TV giant MultiChoice has confirmed revised pricing for its DStv packages in Zimbabwe. The adjustments will take effect on 1 June 2025.

In a public notice issued on Monday, MultiChoice Zimbabwe revealed that while several bouquets will see modest increases, ranging between US$1 and US$2, others will remain untouched.

The move marks the company’s latest recalibration amid rising operational costs and currency pressures across the region.

Top-tier subscribers will be relieved to know that the flagship DStv Premium package is holding steady at US$75 per month, alongside the Lite bouquet, which remains unchanged at US$9.

However, Compact Plus, Family, and Access subscribers will see a US$1 increment, bringing the new monthly fees to US$46, US$21, and US$16, respectively.

The most notable hike comes for DStv Compact, which jumps US$2, from US$30 to US$32.

Special interest packages, including Indian Stand Alone (Premium) at US$39, Indian Add-on at US$25, Portuguese Stand Alone at US$45, Portuguese Add-on at US$25, and the HD PVR Service at US$13, will all maintain their current pricing.

MultiChoice confirmed that these changes will apply equally across traditional satellite services and DStv Streaming.

The broadcaster has not publicly detailed the rationale behind the selective increases but has historically cited inflationary pressures, foreign exchange fluctuations, and content acquisition costs as key factors influencing pricing decisions.

Subscribers are encouraged to visit the DStv website or contact customer care for further details regarding their specific packages and payment options.

  1. Was expecting a downward review of premiums in Zimbabwe owing to the use of a strong USD currency in the country and power challenges

    1. Only soccer is live all your channels have repetitive movies day in day out was not expecting paying more for repeats and even after complaining no action you just ignore us

    2. Dstv sucks you better close. Why do you increase tarrifs without any upgrade on your programs ? Zimbabwe will go with ooen view and subscribe starlink

  2. Whoever or whichever board or executive that advised them this mmmm. The prices need to go down then many will subscribe

    1. Thats fun epl no more ,champion league gone .Zesa crisis on daily basis, the management should have reduce the subscription or give promotion and improve your daily channel views .same movies each and every day..I would prefer going for netflix

  3. Per channel billing will bring back customers. Give the customer the liberty to select the channels to view.

    1. We are paying in hard currency (US$) & with the current power outages, it is not necessary to revise upwards. We feel short changed. We will better resort to Starlink and Azam which is cheaper.

    1. Why continue charging for repititive programs? I think the best way to describe you is you are “THIEVES”. You always repeat same movies Rambo Rambo of 1987. Ahhhhhh why why?

      1. It’s now frustrating a lot, they should lower their prices coz u will be viewing one film almost everyday

  4. The prices need to go down because for the past 2 year we where not subscribng coz of power …so the question is how many are going to ……we dont have power

        1. I don’t think increasing the charges is the right move Subscribers are struggling with the current charges some opting for open views insted. The best option is to reduce the charges and increase the package.

  5. Multichoice should not call us after 1 June when we discontinue paying after the hke. Its enough feedback. I am transitioning to open view.

  6. Dstv sucks already, same movies for six months, the only thing I subscribe for is sport, and you want us to pay another $1 on top mmmh

  7. How can you increase subscriptions so harshly you continueosly show repeatedly movies and old ones plus you are not considering how loadshedding of Zesa. To be honest the Zimbabwe board needs reshuffle.

  8. How can you increase subscriptions so harshly you continueosly show repeated movies and old ones plus you are not considering how loadshedding of Zesa. To be honest the Zimbabwe board needs reshuffle.

  9. You are so stupid you increasing prices not channel,,compact is no Useless repetitive movies, no champions league nonsense

  10. Yes u are on business, but how loyal are your views seeing some movies, but they keep on paying.

  11. moving over to the sa account, they rob us on the zim account. why is it that uefa finals are not on zim compact yet they are available on sa compact package???

  12. It’s better to use wifi. Increasing charges rather than making their services favourable to their customers

  13. Was expecting a downward review, i stopped paying for dstv a longtime ago. They should just go down south where they champions league final is on compact. I feel robbed.

  14. It’s winter now so you should actually encourage TV by lowering prices, coz pipo will love it indoors

  15. As you know power challenges which are facing Zimbabweans ,three quarters of the day we are in dark city ,the time of enjoying such service is very limited. So I advise you to put that into consideration so that you won’t loose your loyal customers by raising up the tariffs.

  16. The worst of all is DSTV,they’re robbing us daylight. Repeating old shows week in week out. They don’t consider VALUE FOR MONEY. Be serious with your customers,we have complained a Long-time ago it’s like you just throw away our contributions & laugh at us on our back. Maybe you’re doing this because we’re Africans. Disgruntled robbed customer

  17. Its better to introduce – pay per view system instead of raising charges. Zesa zesa we are always in darkness everytime without power. You dont care about this?????

  18. Why upwards.i don’t think it’s a good idea.you are going to loose some customers. We are struggling in Zimbabwe…Also we want Uefa champions league channels on compact.

  19. We are shifting out of DStv subscription through use of internet free TV channels, DStv is making a mistake by increasing compact where most subscribers are.
Definitely it see itself phased out.

  20. Smiled when I saw the headline hahaha thought it was downward review f*ck we going Netflix folks

  21. They are now in sync with the outside environment these guys, wy shld they raise the charges. Thought they are going to review downwards hahaha…. Dstv is no longer important these days.

  22. Thats the only thing i was waiting for to stop my subscription why are you making us carry your burden of losses after all you no longer offer quality .Hambani khatshana masela

  23. I thought they were going to review
the subscriptions downwards because their contents is poor, only soccer is live all your channels have repetitive movies day in day out was not expecting paying more for repeats and even after complaining no action you just ignore .Don’t be surprised if you see the number of subscribers decreasing after this hike.
