ZIFA Announces Friendlies For Warriors Against Burkina Faso And Niger In Morocco

The Zimbabwe national football team, the Warriors, will play two international friendly matches in June as part of their preparations for upcoming competitive fixtures.

The Warriors are scheduled to face Burkina Faso on 6 June 2025 in Casablanca, Morocco, before taking on Niger in the same city on 10 June.

The matches are expected to give head coach Michael Nees and his technical team a chance to assess the players’ fitness, experiment with different combinations, and strengthen team chemistry.

Both Burkina Faso and Niger are seen as strong opponents, providing Zimbabwe with valuable competitive experience ahead of key qualifiers and tournaments.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) said the friendlies form part of a broader plan to ensure the national team gets regular exposure to high-level international matches. Said ZIFA in a statement:

These friendlies are part of a broader strategy to give our national team regular high-level match exposure in anticipation of upcoming qualifiers and tournaments.
