President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Brest, Belarus, for a working visit, according to a report by BelTA on Monday, 12 May.
He was welcomed at the airport by the Governor of Brest Oblast, Piotr Parkhomchik, the Assistant to the President and Inspector for Brest Oblast, Valery Vakulchik, as well as Brest Mayor, Sergei Lobodinsky.
During his visit to Brest Oblast, President Mnangagwa is expected to hold meetings and tour various facilities, including a visit to the Savushkin Product dairy company, one of the region’s key food producers. Said Vakulchik:
Common sense suggests that we should increase cooperation with the countries of the African continent, because they hold the future.
This is a region that is developing very rapidly: not only in mining, as is commonly believed, but also in terms of agricultural and industrial development.
Of course, it is very important and positive that our country took timely steps to discover this region for itself. We take a very honest approach to cooperation…
It is also interesting for our partners. Brest Oblast has a lot to offer. Certainly, it will be beneficial both for Brest citizens and Zimbabweans.
