Kwekwe United FC has been found guilty by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee for failing to honour a scheduled Castle Lager PSL match.
As a result, the club has been fined US$3,500, with US$500 of the fine suspended for the remainder of the season. The suspension is contingent on the club not being convicted of a similar offence during this period. The remaining fine of US$3,000, along with hearing costs, must be paid by 23 May 2025.
In addition, the unfulfilled fixture has been awarded to Herentals FC, with a three-nil victory for the match. Said PSL Communications and Media Liaison Officer, Kudzai Bare:
The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has released the judgement in the matter involving Kwekwe United FC.
The Club was found guilty of failing to fulfil a scheduled Castle Lager PSL fixture and fined a sum of US$3,500, with US$500 suspended for the rest of the season on condition that the club is not convicted of a similar offence. The effective fine of US$3,000, along with hearing costs, must be paid by 23 May 2025.
Additionally, the unfulfilled fixture has been awarded to Herentals FC with a three-nil scoreline.
