Police Intercept Foreign-Registered Kombi In Kadoma, Seize Broncleer Syrup Worth US$16,400

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has recovered Broncleer Cough Syrup with a street value of US$16,400 after intercepting a foreign-registered Toyota Quantum vehicle along the Harare-Bulawayo Road.

In a statement, the ZRP said that on Tuesday, April 1, detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics division acted on a tip-off and intercepted the kombi transporting the contraband at the Kadoma Toll Gate. Police said:

On 01/04/25, Detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics , Harare received information that a foreign registered Toyota Quantum kombi was carrying Broncleer Cough Syrup from Bulawayo to Harare. 

The detectives acted on the tip and intercepted the kombi at Kadoma Toll Gate along Harare-Bulawayo Road, leading to the arrest of Rodrick Chambe (39). 

The driver of the kombi fled from the scene. As a result, 42 boxes containing 50 X 100 mls of Broncleer Cough Syrup with a street value of USD 16 400.00 were recovered.

On March 26, police in Chirundu intercepted a haulage truck at the 269-kilometre peg along the Harare-Chirundu Road and arrested the driver, 43-year-old Kudakwashe Jimu, for the unlawful possession of boxes of Broncleer Cough Syrup.
