The wife of Morocco international and Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi reportedly filed for divorce and wanted the footballer’s wealth only for her to realise it was registered in his mother’s name.
Hiba Abouk Benslimane known professionally as Hiba Abouk has two children with the Madrid-born footballer.
However, the Spanish actress’ marriage to Hakimi was affected by the rape allegations against him last month.
Media reports in France indicate that Abouk filed for divorce seeking to keep half of Hakim’s fortune.
The problem is that the fortune is registered in the name of Sadia Mouh, Hakim’s mother.
Hakimi is one of the highest-paid players at Qatari-sponsored French club PSG, earning a reported €1.08 million per month.
Meanwhile, it has been widely reported that local footballers live in abject poverty after hanging up their boots after losing their earnings to their spouses.
In 2021, it was reported that former Warriors striker Tendai Ndoro was kicked out of his affluent home in Kyalami Estates in Johannesburg, South Africa, by his South African wife.
Ndoro’s wife kicked him out of their home and took possession of their cars.
The report emerged after images of a frail-looking Ndoro circulated on social media platforms.
