PSL is summoning the Dynamos Team Manager for a disciplinary hearing after he was filmed performing alleged anti-juju rituals during the Glamour Boys’ opening match of the 2023 season.

During the half-time break, Chihoro went onto the Mpilo end goalpost and sprinkled an unknown substance across the goal line.

Dynamos had numerous chances in the first half but could not convert them into scores.

They eventually scored a solitary goal through Tinashe Makanda from a Denver Mukamba assist, to grab maximum points.

Juju in football:

“Juju” is a term that is sometimes used in football to refer to superstitions or rituals that players believe can bring them good luck or help them perform better on the field.

These practices are often deeply personal and vary from player to player.

In Zimbabwean football, “juju” refers to traditional African beliefs and practices used by players and coaches to gain an advantage over their opponents. This includes the use of traditional medicines or charms and consulting with traditional healers or spiritual leaders for advice.

While not officially recognized, juju remains a significant part of the country’s football culture. Many players and coaches continue to use juju as a way to gain an edge over their opponents, and its influence can be seen in everything from pre-match rituals to the way players dress and behave on the field.
