Around seventy per cent of schools that were operating without proper registration in Harare Metropolitan Province have so far complied with the requirement to register.
This was said by Harare Metropolitan Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Tafadzwa Muguti.
Speaking in a recent interview with The Sunday Mail, Muguti said Harare had a total of 400 schools that were operating without registration. He said:
We had a total of 400 unregistered schools as of 2021. And, as of the end of last year, almost 300 schools had been registered; that is over 70 percent have managed to comply.
Muguti warned schools that have not complied that they risk being closed.
