Jiti musician, Baba Harare born Braveman Chizvino, has said there was nothing wrong with the fashion that was donned by artistes at the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) 21st edition ceremony held on February 25, 2023, at the HICC.
He also said the Zimbabwean economy does not allow artistes to dress as per the expected standards.
Baba Harare made the remarks in response to a Facebook post by Zimbabwean model, Jackie Ngarande, who suggested that some of the artistes’ wardrobe needs a lot to be desired. Ngarande said:

In response, Baba Harare said:

He said artistes’s priority is not necessarily to dress to kill because they still have bills to pay after the NAMA event adding, “truth be told our industry tirikukanga waya [we’re poor].” Baba Harare also said:
