Leaders of apostolic sects uniting under the banner of Vapositori for ED (VED) have asked President Emmerson Mnangagwa to establish a Ministry of Religion, reported The Herald.
Members of VED met Mnangagwa at the State House in Harare on Friday where they pledged to deliver 2.3 million votes for ZANU PF in general elections slated for later this year.
Through their spokesperson Madzibaba Obey Mapuranga, VED told Mnangagwa that ZANU PF will rule Zimbabwe “forever”.
VED complained that their children are being indoctrinated by other churches and asked the President for land to build their schools.
Members of VED are drawn from Johanne Masowe, Vadzidzi, Mugodhi, and others.
Mnangagwa promised VED that his government will ensure that freedom of worship is enjoyed by every Zimbabwean.
He also undertook to engage traditional leaders whom the Vapositori had said were sometimes interfering with their activities. He said:
You are reservoirs of knowledge, you have asked for a religious ministry. I have taken this into consideration, and soon I will be meeting with chiefs to get their views on the issue that you have raised.
Let me tell you that we have some who are black only in colour but inside they are white, it is better to associate with the white man openly.
they should rather establish a ministry of uselessness , and then they can also include a minister of absolute dumbness
they should establish a ministry of d um b ness and use less ness
Vapostori are seeking to hijack African spirituality. Their doctrine is nonsensical. The preach the names of prophets of the Old Testament, which in he fullness of time we have come to know as mythologies. We don’t need congregational worshiping. people can worship in their family setting.
These zanu pf child rapist never stop. What sin did Zimbabwean commit to have such people in leadership and close to leadership
