Presidential hopeful Robert Chapman says he is targeting 74 of the votes in Zimbabwe’s general election slated for later this year.
Chapman, who leads the Democratic Union of Zimbabwe (DUZ) has already declared his intention to take part in the crucial poll, which will be held in the second half of the year.
Speaking on ZTN Prime show The Chase, Chapman said his target is not just to win the presidential election, but to do so convincingly. He said:
We are shooting for the win, right now the target is about 74% of the votes, that is what we are targeting.
That is our goal that we are striving for. We look at the centre, we know what the polls, the numbers are showing us in the middle then we want to take a little bit from each side, from each of the extreme spectrums.
We think we can win people from both sides of strongholds of parties.
chappo famba nyika yese vanhu vakuzive uye tell people your offer as incoming leader
74% are you sure selfish ZANU will allow that? It’s on record the late Morgan Tsvangirai beat Mugabe by over 70% in the 2008 elections…we all know what happened right? Best of luck to you Mr. Chapman but you have your work cut out for you baba….your figures you project is wishful thinking especially for your party that has just launched recently. The elections are already a farce all sane thinking zimbos know this.
