Nakamba Reveals Why He Chose Luton Move On Deadline Day
Warriors midfield anchorman Marvelous Nakamba said that he rejected offers from other clubs before deciding to join Luton Town on the deadline day of the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old joined the Hatters in January 2023 on a six-month loan deal after falling down the pecking order at Aston Villa.
Reports suggest that another Championship club, West Bromwich Albion and a number of unnamed EPL teams were interested in the player but Nakamba decided to move to Luton.
Speaking to Luton Today, Nakamba said when he spoke with the coach Rob Edwards, he was impressed by the club’s vision. He said:
As a player, you always want to play and my chances of playing have been limited.

For me, speaking with my agent, I was looking at where I can go and play and fortunately, Luton came up.
I liked the project, I spoke with the coach and I liked the vision of the club, where they want to go and it was good for me to come here and try my best and give everything for the club.

I spoke with a few managers, and there were a few options, but when I spoke with him, he was clear with me.
He was direct and I felt like yes, he’s honest about the club, about the group of players, about everyone and I felt like to come here and give everything to the club.
Nakamba made his debut for Luton from the bench in a 1-0 win over Stoke City.
He started his first match for the Hatters in a 1-1 draw against Coventry on Saturday.
