Former Bafana Bafana Striker Officially Adopts Didier Drogba's Name

Former Bafana Bafana striker Bongani Ndulula says he officially named himself after Chelsea and Ivory Coast legendary striker Didier Drogba because of the love he has for him.

In his playing days, Drogba won major trophies including the UEFA Champions League and the English Premier League title with Chelsea.

He also won the African Footballer of the Year twice and scored over 300 goals in his club football career.

Drogba is also Ivory Coast’s all-time scorer with 65 goals.

Ndulula (33), who played for Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Bloemfontein Celtic and Chippa United, said:

I love Drogba, so much that when I went to get my ID, I added Drogba to my name.

He made the remarks during an interview on Metro FM’s SNAWA, hosted by Andile Ncube, reported FarPost.

Ndulula has been a free agent since parting ways with Chippa United at the end of the 2016/17 DStv Premiership season.

He is now desperate to kickstart his football career as he believes he still has a lot to offer. Said Ndulula:

I haven’t retired from football yet, I’m just waiting to get an opportunity from any team that would like me to try out for them.

Sometimes I ask myself how did my career get here. I ask myself how do I not have a team to play for.
