Several ZANU PF supporters were allegedly assaulted and seriously injured by suspected CCC activists at Mtora Growth Point, Gokwe-Nembudziya, on Sunday, 12 February.

According to ZBC News, the injured ZANU PF supporters were ferried to Gokwe North District Hospital for medical attention.

The ruling party has condemned the attack which it blamed on the Citizens’ Coalition for Change. ZANU PF tweeted:

We condemn in strongest terms, the violence meted out against our supporters in Gokwe by Mr. Chamisa’s CCC hooligans. That has no place in our society.

President @edmnangagwa has called for peaceful political mobilisations. Let the Law take decide. We pray for their quick recovery!

Police were yet to issue a statement, but reports indicate that one person has been arrested.

  1. This is not surprising at all as Zanu-PF is known for creating such fictitious stories with no evidence. Of all the political parties opposing the ruling what makes them point a finger at just one political party. They are just creating a scenario to ban Chamisa’s party because they fear his popularity.

    1. Popularity is not equivalent to good leadership! The ignorance of the so-called young generation is breathtaking! This Chamisa is a terrible dictator who decides that the people can’t go to bielections to choose their representatives! How stupid are you people? If he can bypass this huge democratic step now what happens IF he is in power as national president? Plus hamuna mari the west is tired of sponsoring a failed project!

    2. This is what fadzie has to correct nhunzi ikapinda mumba izanu now that has created this foolish counter àccusations, but everyone knows who the police will find, poor poor strategy as usual
