Talent Chawapiwa Returns From South Africa

Former Warriors winger Talent Chawapiwa was spotted at newly-promoted Premier Soccer League side Simba Bhora’s training sessions.

The 30-year-old winger has reportedly been training with the club in recent days with the hope of impressing new coach Tonderai Ndiraya to revive his fading football career.

NewsDay reported a source as saying Chawapiwa has been working hard to impress Ndiraya. Said the source:

Talent looks a bit rusty and needs to work on his general fitness.

He has been working very hard at training and looks like he is doing well to charm coach Ndiraya. He is likely to get a contract.

Before moving to South Africa Chawapiwa played for Harare City, ZPC Kariba and FC Platinum.

In South Africa, he played for Baroka United from 2017-2019 after joining the club from FC Platinum.

He then moved to Amazulu and spent two seasons at the club. He was offloaded by the Durban club in 2021 under unclear circumstances.

Chawapiwa also played for Sekhukhune United and was released by the club in January 2022.

He then joined South African National First Division Platinum City Rovers and at the end of last season, the club decided against renewing the short-term contract he had signed.

Chawapiwa was in the final Warriors squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals under coach Sunday Chidzambga. | NewsDay
