Former Vice President's Son's Girlfriend Spared Jail

Former Vice President John Landa Nkomo’s son Sandlasami’s ex-girlfriend who stole his household properties as punishment for ending their relationship escaped imprisonment when she appeared in court recently.

Sandlasami’s ex-lover, Tinevimbo Hove (22), pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful entry and theft when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Max Ncube.

Hove was sentenced to four months imprisonment but the four months were wholly suspended for three years on condition she does not commit a similar offence within that period.

If she is convicted within three years, she will be sentenced without the option of a fine.

The court heard that Sandlasami and Tinevimbo were staying together at his home in Paddonhurst suburb, Bulawayo, until he ended their relationship.

Tinevimbo left for her home and later returned and broke into Sandlasami’s house and stole a 42-inch TV, knives, plates, pots, microwave, curtains, and groceries.

Later on the same day, Sandlasami was informed about the break-in. He then reported the matter to the police leading to Tinevimbo’s arrest. | B-Metro
