Former Liberation War Fighter Shepherd Tsomondo Buried

Shepherd Tsomondo, a former liberation war fighter, has been laid to rest, with speakers describing him as a disciplined cadre who should be emulated by others.

Tsomondo who was declared a Provincial hero succumbed to renal failure on Monday last week at the age of 64 and was buried in Norton last Friday with full military honours.

ZANU PF Mashonaland West provincial War Veterans League chairman Happison Muchechetere urged party members and supporters to emulate Tsomondo’s life, and promote political tolerance ahead of 2023 harmonised elections.

Muchechetere encouraged Zimbabweans to desist from violence and urged them to focus on rebuilding the nation towards attaining Vision 2030 of an empowered upper-middle-income society.

Speaking at the burial, Tsomondo’s wife, Bybit Tsomondo, said she was only 16 when she met him in 1978. She added:

Tsomondo is survived by his wife, five children and eight grandchildren.
