Price Of Petrol Goes Up By 3 Cents

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) on Wednesday announced new fuel prices effective 02 November 2022.

ZERA increased the price of petrol by US$0.3 cents to US$1.57 per litre from the previous price of US$1.54.

The price of diesel remains unchanged at US$1.73 per litre. ZERA said in a statement:

The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio remains at E20. Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations.

Notwithstanding the fact that fuel is hardly sold in Zimbabwe dollars, ZERA has announced new prices in the local currency.

  • Diesel is now ZWL$1.091.75, up from ZWL$1.094.77 per litre
  • Petrol is now ZWL$992.45, up from ZWL$976.17 per litre

  1. 1 cent down….then 3 cents up….then 2cents down? Rip off artists, seriously, what is going on here? There is no meaningful change in the price of this lower grade blended fuel.
