Two Mine Workers Attacked And Robbed Of Cash And A Cell Phone

Two Gweru mine workers were attacked and robbed of cash and a cell phone, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the incident.

A police statement seen by Pindula News states police have since arrested the assailants identified as Mduduzi Ncube, Bekezela Tshuma and Mncedisi Dube. Reads the statement:

On 29/10/22, Police in Gweru acted on a tip-off and arrested Mduduzi Ncube (19), Bekezela Tshuma (26), Pardon Mukleya (20) and Mncedisi Dube in connection with a robbery case which occurred at a mine in Gweru, where two mine workers were attacked before US$505 cash and a cellphone were stolen. The arrest led to the recovery of Beeman P17 Airgun.

In a different case, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Beitbridge swiftly reacted to a tip-off and arrested Dumisani Bweriniga (38) on 28 October 2022, for unlawful possession of 1 gram of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of ZWL$8 000.00.

Meanwhile, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare acted on the received information and arrested Devine Sena (37) on 29 October 2022 at a house in Helensvale for illegal dealing in dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Sena was found in possession of 10 grams of cocaine and a LLAMA pistol.
