World Leaders Congratulate Xi Jinping For Securing A 3rd Five-year Term

World leaders have sent congratulatory messages to Xi Jinping for securing a third five-year term following his reelection Sunday 23 October 2022 as the Secretary-General of China’s ruling party, the Communist Party.

North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un sent a congratulatory letter to Xi Jinping on his reelection as China’s leader, saying he hoped to further develop their ties, state news agency KCNA reported on Sunday. Kim said in the letter:

The 20th Congress of the CPC offered a significant landmark for the Chinese party and people in propelling the historic process of the Chinese nation’s great prosperity under the banner of the socialist idea with the Chinese characteristics in the new era.

I, together with you, will shape more a beautiful future of the DPRK-China relations meeting the demand of the times and lead the endeavours for its realisation so as to continue to powerfully propel the socialist cause in the two countries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Chinese counterpart on Sunday saying he looked forward to further developing a “comprehensive partnership” between their two countries.

Mr Putin told Xi that the results of the Party Congress fully confirm his high political authority, as well as the unity of the party he leads, according to the Kremlin’s website.

The president of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, also sent a congratulatory message to Xi.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday congratulated China President Xi Jinping for securing a third term as the country’s top leader. Mr Sharif called Xi Jinping’s re-election a tribute to his “unwavering devotion” towards the people of China. He posted on Twitter:

On behalf of the entire Pakistani nation, I congratulate President Xi Jinping on his reelection as CPC General Secretary for the 3rd term. It is a glowing tribute to his sagacious stewardship and unwavering devotion for serving the people of China.

UAE leaders also sent their congratulatory messages. President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a congratulatory cable to Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, for being re-elected General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for a third term.
