ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON MONDAY 10 OCTOBER 2022 VALID UNTIL WEDNESDAY 12 OCTOBER 2022.
PREAMBLE
It was briefly cloudy, windy and cool in the morning in Matabeleland South and it became warm by the afternoon.
The rest of the country was mostly sunny, hazy and hot with a freshening breeze and it was mild in the morning.
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW TUESDAY 11 OCTOBER 2022
Brief cloudy conditions are expected in Mashonaland East Provinces and Manicaland Provinces.
All other areas are anticipated to be mostly sunny with mild morning conditions and haze, becoming hot from the afternoon.

IMPACTS
- Strong winds increase the occurrence of veldt fires.
- While land preparations are vital at this stage, those engaged in such on-farm and other outdoor activities are reminded to wear sunhats if they need to be outdoors for prolonged periods of time.
- High temperatures can cause dehydration and other related diseases.
- Windy and dry conditions may affect the body’s health, with common colds, allergies, and hay fever, as well as asthma, being common.
ACTIONS TO TAKE
- Take enough fluids to compensate for water loss through dehydration with medical doctors’ advice.
- Keep warm at night and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, especially during midday
- Put out any fires found in open veldt fires and road-sides. Do not leave any fire unattended.
- Veld fires are extensive so farmers are expected to construct fire guards that are at least 9 metres wide and free of burning vegetative matter.
- Ensure adequate watering of animals during hot periods to reduce heat-induced stress.
