ZANU PF’s newly established wing, the War Veterans League has endorsed President Emmerson Mnangagwa as their candidate for the 2023 elections.
The league held its two-day inaugural elective conference in Harare where it threw its weight behind Mnangagwa who controversially won the 2018 elections.
Posting on Twitter, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Ndavaningi Mangwana said:
The War Veterans League has unanimously and unequivocally endorsed President Emmerson Mnangagwa as their party’s sole candidate for the 2023 Presidential elections.
In June this year, the ZANU PF Women’s League also endorsed Mnangagwa as the party’s sole presidential candidate in the upcoming elections.
Addressing delegates to the Seventh National Congress of the ZANU PF Women’s League held in Harare, the party’s Women’s League National Secretary for Legal Affairs, Cecilia Bhebhe-Ndubiwa, said:
As the Women’s League, we endorse President Emmerson Mnangagwa as our sole Presidential Candidate for the 2023 elections.
ZANU PF is set to hold its elective congress from 26 to 29 October 2022.
