Tagwirei's Arundel Hospital Offers To Settle Bill Of Zimbabwean Woman In Limpopo

Sakunda Holdings-run Arundel Private Hospital has offered to settle the outstanding bill for a Zimbabwean woman who received medical attention in South Africa’s Limpopo Province.

The woman became a topical issue after a video trended in which a South African Member of the Executive (MEC) for Health in that province, Dr Phophi Ramathuba refused to discharge her over unpaid bills.

In a statement seen by Pindula News, Arundel Hospital appealed to members of the public who have details about the won in question to contact the health institution. Reads the statement:

Meanwhile, the announcement has triggered varying responses with some applauding the institution while some took the opportunity to criticise the government. Pindula News presents some of the responses below:

Noma not Normal @NomaSapienTR:

We can’t all survive on charity. The country must be functional to take care of its citizens’ health needs. Its a constitutional right and Zim has the resources. Stop corruption and primitive looting!

Chikule #responsible citizen @ngozho:

Zvakutsamwisa kuti awana rubatsiro. She was supposed to continue being detained at that hospital so that u can push your CCC narrative well.

Jagavu_P @JagavuP:

Private medical facilities in Zimbabwe are the enablers of this rot as it allows the powerful to have access to good facilities which the poor can’t. The same powerful deprive the public facilities of resources to provide good service, that in turn benefits the private clinics.

Zandi @maDube_:

You are grandstanding for nothing. Will you also pay all outstanding medical bills for Zimbos who were treated in South Africa?

Nzekete AG @AMakuyana:

Not a single person is trying to bring the requested information so that the patients can be helped. Instead people are bringing Politics and insults. Meaning even those who complain about Zanupf aren’t doing it bcoz they want a better country. It’s so they can eat

Mudhara weKanzuru @ChenjeraiRonnie:

Sei muchisiya pfungwa kumba? (why are you being unreasonable) Zimbos in SA r contributing directly to the MEC’s salary. SARS doesn’t care about work permits, they just collect mari yavo (their money). Have they ever complained that foreigners r being taxed? They complain when it comes to medical care.

Blessing Tobaiwa @the_Blesst:

Zimbos can be disappointing, what’s wrong with Arundel assisting that ONE person??? Don’t politicise everything, learn to say thank you.

TAFADZWA @gabazat:

If I may ask if the patient had approached you for services before going to South Africa, how much was she going to part with? This should not be taken as a marketing opportunity, some of us really have a passion for marketing, pliz don’t abuse it. Ityai Mwari.

kayman @Reniaskay:

Y can’t you go there pay the bill and market yourself. Ma Zimba with poor reasoning.Chikoro chinenge chakawandisa I think.
