Suspected ZANU PF supporters have allegedly attacked Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activists in Wedza before abducting one activist identified as Tonderai Bhuka.
CCC deputy spokesperson, Gift Ostallos Siziba told Pindula News this evening that Tonderai Bhuka has been located. He told this reporter:
We located him just now and we’re on our way to the police station to open a case.
It is alleged that about 100 suspected ZANU PF members stormed a vehicle belonging to the CCC activists and blocked the roads near Wedza north in the GMB area.
Bhuka was then abducted during the commotion.
The CCC party has always accused the ruling ZANU PF and state security forces of organising and abducting its members.
The alleged abduction comes barely days after CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa said the “ZANU PF-controlled Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP)” was blocking the party’s rallies as the governing party was afraid of losing the 2023 elections. He said:
They are scared and very afraid.
He made the remarks after police had blocked the party’s rally that was slated for Chipinge. The CCC party then filed an urgent court chamber application challenging the police decision but it was dismissed by the courts.
f u c k z a n u pf always !
Another fake abduction. The CCC cry wolf everything. Now no-one believes them. They do this to feel relevant and for the sanctions to be maintained.
