Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast: 12 - 14 August 2022

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has released a weather report and forecast for the period 12 – 14 August 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:

PREAMBLE

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON FRIDAY 12 AUGUST 2022 VALID UNTIL SUNDAY 14 AUGUST 2022.

Clear skies, warm and hazy conditions were predominant in all areas with cool morning and evening.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, SATURDAY 13 AUGUST 2022

It should be sunny, hazy and warm by day with a light breeze time and again though cool in the morning and evening in all areas.

IMPACTS

• Windy and dry conditions make most areas prone to run-away veldt fires which destroy property and endanger lives.

• It is becoming warmer over much of the country and slightly more conducive to dehydration in vulnerable members of the society.

• Overnight conditions are becoming less chilly and the days a comfortably warm

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• High fire-danger season is upon us and all members of the society, especially farmers, are encouraged to construct fire-guards at least 9 metres wide to safeguard their property.

• All farmers (urban and rural) are urged to reduce the amount of grass on their farms and residential properties through hay baling, thatch, and broom grass harvesting as a fire prevention measure.

• The public is reminded not to start any outdoor fires; these tend to spread easily during this season.

• Antihistamines, respirators or inhalers should be on standby for those prone to respiratory illnesses. School children are urged to wear a mask, and always maintain social distance at school and play.

• It is a perfect time to go game viewing in the various National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries countrywide as animals converge at watering holes.

• The weather is also excellent for outdoor activities and sports as well as camping, with the night sky being clear to observe the different colours of stars.
