Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast: 31 July - 02 August 2022

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has released a weather report and forecast for the period 31 July – 02 August 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:

PREAMBLE

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON MONDAY 01 AUGUST 2022 VALID UNTIL WEDNESDAY 03 AUGUST 2022.

It was cloudy, windy and cold in Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, southern districts of the Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland Provinces, this morning; while clear skies dominated all other areas with early morning chills felt in places. Matopos, Nyanga, Gweru, Henderson, Kezi, Marondera, Rusape, and Masvingo had slight ground frost.

FORECAST

FORECASTS FOR TOMORROW, TUESDAY 02 AUGUST 2022

Windy, cold and cloudy morning conditions are anticipated in Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, southern districts of the Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland Provinces, with drizzle in places, becoming less cloudy as the day progresses. All other areas Matabeleland North, northern parts of the Midlands, Harare Metropolitan and all Mashonaland Provinces) are expected to have mostly clear skies and cold morning conditions. It should be mild by day with a light breeze time and again, becoming cold towards evening.

• Cold conditions may affect the body’s health, with common colds, influenza, and fever, as well as asthma, being common.

• Poultry producers should note that broilers are sensitive to temperature variations

• Drizzle may affect your outdoor activities, please plan with the weather in mind.

• Fog/Low-level cloud may affect visibility, especially in parts of the Eastern Highlands.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• Dress appropriately to keep warm especially overnight, and ensure vulnerable members of society are warm as well.

• When braziers are in use, please ensure the room is well ventilated.

• Poultry producers should check temperature levels regularly and adjustments made to reduce bird mortality and increase productivity.

• Field crops that may be affected by rain need to be stored in a dry place.

• Drive cautiously, especially when visibility has been diminished by fog or cloud-induced darkness.

OUTLOOK – WEATHER FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY 03 AUGUST 2022

Masvingo, Manicaland and Mashonaland East Provinces should be cloudy and cold at first but rapidly become sunny and much wanner by midday. All other areas (Midlands, Matabeleland South, Bulawayo Metropolitan, Matabeleland North, Harare Metropolitan, Mashonaland West and Central Provinces) are expected to be mostly sunny and mild by day, though cold both morning and evening.
