IMPACTS

  • Temperature fluctuations may affect the body’s health, with common colds, influenza, and fever, as well as asthma, being common.
  • Poultry producers should note that broilers are sensitive to temperature variations
  • The Eastern Highlands may experience fog in some parts. This tends to reduce visibility, more so when a car is on full beam.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

  • Light rain and drizzle may affect some produce that has been harvested. Ensure such crops are protected.
  • Dress appropriately to keep warm especially overnight, and ensure vulnerable members of society are warm as well. When braziers are in use, please ensure the room is well ventilated.
  • Poultry producers should check temperature levels regularly and adjustments made to reduce bird mortality and increase productivity.
  • Drive cautiously, especially when visibility has been diminished by fog or cloud-induced darkness.
  • Do not use full beam as this reduces visibility further due to refraction of light by fog particles.
