SA: Ramaphosa Given 48 Hours To Step Aside

Some ANC members have demanded that party president Cyril Ramaphosa be suspended pending investigations on the robbery that took place at his Phala Phala farm in 2020. US$4 million in cash was reportedly stolen in the incident.

Ramaphosa allegedly concealed the crime from authorities while the suspects were abducted and questioned before being paid off for their silence on the crime, according to former spy boss Arthur Fraser.

The protesters, who were led by Carl Niehaus, Supra Mahumapelo and Des Van Rooyen, marched to Luthuli House in ANC regalia and handed over a memorandum containing their grievances.

They expressed their unhappiness with how the ANC is handling the issue of the Phala Phala Farm in Limpopo.

Mahumapelo claimed that Ramaphosa knew all along that something was wrong at his farm, but chose to keep quiet about it. He said:

Ramaphosa knew something was wrong – why did he choose to keep quiet about it – we are not taken seriously here and we need to take action on the matter, soon.

The protestors were also demanding the reduction of Petrol prices, and an end to load shedding, among other things. Protestor, Senzo Nkabinde:

By Sunday 17 July, he must go or we are going to occupy SABC, NPA… effect a citizens arrest.

The memorandum was received by the ANC Head of Presidency, Sibongile Besani and National Executive Committee member, Collen Maine.
