Jonathan Moyo Explains Recent Chamisa, CCC Criticism
Exiled former ZANU PF Politburo member Jonathan Moyo has explained why he has been criticising the opposition Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) in recent months.
Moyo has been critical of CCC citing the absence of elected leadership, a constitution and structures.
The former cabinet minister has gone as far as saying CCC is a “secret society” that may undermine national security and should be barred from contesting in elections.
Speaking at late academic Alex Magaisa’s memorial service in Harare recently, Chamisa, who leads CCC, said those pushing for the opposition party to have structures before the 2023 elections are ZANU PF coaches.
Moyo, however, insists that it is in the public interest for CCC to be held to account for its failure to have a constitution and elected leadership. He said:

Moyo has been described as someone who doesn’t take rejection well and resorts to demonising and scandalising those who turn down his overtures.
Last year, Moyo unsuccessfully sought to be made MDC Alliance advisor and strategist and even offered to train 40 000 polling agents for the party ahead of next year’s elections.
CCC supporters view Moyo with suspicion considering his role in constricting the democratic space in the country right up to the night he fled the country at the height of the November 2017 military coup.
