CAPS United Back To Winning Ways

CAPS United ended a seven-match winless streak in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League with a 2-1 victory over Harare City at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Makepekepe picked the win courtesy of William Manondo’s two strikes on either side of half-time.

The forward opened the scoring in the 17th minute before completing his brace from the spot in the 52nd minute.

Harare City got their consolation just after the hour through Zorodzai Semure.

Meanwhile, reigning champions FC Platinum moved to the top of the premiership table following their convincing victory over Chicken Inn on Saturday.

The Platinum Boys cruised to a 3-0 win at Luveve Stadium, thanks to a Walter Musona brace, and a Nomore Chinyere goal, all coming in the first half.

In another Castle Lager Premiership match played on Saturday, Black Rhinos edged ten-man Herentals 2-1.

The Students finished the game with a man short following Tinotenda Benza’s straight red card for an off-the-ball incident.

In matches lined up for this Sunday, Dynamos hosts Triangle United at the National Sports Stadium while Bulawayo Chiefs take on Cranborne Bullets at Luveve Stadium.

Manica Diamonds and Bulawayo City lock horns at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare while Whawha entertains Tenax CS at Ascot Stadium.

Meanwhile, Ngezi Platinum Stars host Highlanders at Baobab Stadium. The match will be screened live on ZTN Prime, DStv channel 294.
