Marshall Munetsi Thanks God As He Turns 26

Stade de Reims midfielder Marshall Munetsi has expressed gratitude to the Almighty for the gift of life as he turned 26 on 23 June.

Munetsi, who travelled back to France last week, said he was inundated with good wishes from many people. He said:

I just want to thank God for another year added. I’m grateful for the love and kindness He has shown me through all the tears of my life.

It’s a great day for me and I’ve been receiving some acts of love from many people.

I’m so overwhelmed and I just want to thank everyone who has been there for me and has wished me well.

I’m not doing much but just spending the day with my loved ones.

The Warriors box-to-box midfielder who is reportedly on the radar of English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion said he is ready for the 2022/23 season. He said:

I’m so ready and hyped up for the coming season.

We haven’t started training yet but have been doing some individual training, we start the team medicals on Friday.

I’m excited and looking forward to the new season. I just want to do better than I did last season and help my team in any way I can.

Last season was good and I expect this season to be better than the last.

The team believes in me and I just want to do as much as I can not to disappoint them and help them achieve their targets.

Munetsi is arguably Zimbabwe’s most consistent footballer based abroad after impressing in his first two seasons at Reims.

His contract was set to expire in 2024, after joining the club from Orlando Pirates, in 2019 but he signed a two-year extension to 2026.
