ZANU PF Blames CCC For Nyatsime Violence

ZANU PF director of Information and Publicity, Tafadzwa Mugwadi, has condemned the orgy of violence that took place in Nyatsime recently which resulted in the torching of several homes in the area.

The ruling party blames CCC activists for the arson while the opposition claims ZANU PF was behind the violence.

The mayhem came after a ZANU PF Member of Parliament and Councillor banned the opposition CCC from mourning murdered activist Moreblessing Ali at her homestead in Nyatsime.

Ali who had been missing for more than two weeks was found murdered and mutilated and her body had been dumped in a disused well at the home of a suspected ZANU PF terror gang leader.

The Herald quoted Mugwadi as saying the violence in Nyatsime was planned and executed by the leadership of Citizen for Coalition for Change. Said Mugwadi:

The revolutionary party ZANU PF believes strongly that all this violence was unprovoked, needless but of course well-rehearsed and choreographed by the rank and file of the leadership of Citizen for Coalition for Change (CCC).

We have taken note as a party, of their speeches inciting violence throughout the past weeks by CCC deputy chairperson Mr Job Sikhala and his leader Mr Chamisa.

All these theatrics were meant to soil the Second Republic’s image ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of State and Government meeting taking place in Rwanda in the next seven days.

Mugwadi urged ZANU PF members to desist from violence and allow the law to take its course. He added:

Our hearts go out to Cde Murambatsvina and his family and the generality of our supporters who were targeted by these criminal hooligans. We call for cool heads among our supporters at this difficult hour.

Abide by President Mnangagwa’s directive to maintain peace at all times, let the law always lead us and justice will prevail.

Our message to Mr Chamisa and Sikhala and the entirety of the violent lot in the CCC is that no one is above the law notwithstanding your rank and standing in society. The law will always prevail.
