UPDATE: ZESA Restores Power At Meikles Hotel

Local power utility, the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) has restored power at Meikles after a power cut in the Harare Central Business District which started on Saturday, 11 June. As a result of the blackout, guests could not use air conditioners for warmth. The hotel had also issued a memo advising them that whoever wanted hot water to bath had to make a request to the management. In the latest update, the hotel said:

DEAR GUESTS

The blanket power cut experienced in the Harare CBD, from June 11 to 14, has now been rectified and all services in the Meikles Hotel are back to normal. We would like to thank our valued guests and staff for their co-operation and understanding during this challenging period.
Our appreciation also goes to the power authorities for working tirelessly to attend to the problem.

Warm regards,

TINASHE MUNJOMA GENERAL MANAGER
