Zimbabwe Weather Report And Forecast 5-7 May 2022

The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has released a weather report and forecast for the period 5 – 7 May 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:

PREAMBLE

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON THURSDAY 05 MAY 2022 VALID UNTIL SATURDAY 07 MAY 2022.

Two separate cloud systems, one over the northeast and another from the south-east resulted in brief cloudy and mild conditions in Mashonaland East as well as Midlands, Matabeleland South, Masvingo, and Manicaland Provinces. All other areas had mostly clear blue skies as the atmosphere is becoming less humid.

 

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, FRIDAY 06 MAY 2022

Beginning off cool in the morning, brief cloudy and mild afternoon conditions are expected in Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, and Harare Metropolitan. Mostly clear skies are expected to dominate much of the country. It should be warm by the afternoon, becoming cool towards evening. Slight ground frost is probable in areas such as Matopos and Gweru.

• Ground frost is probable in frost-prone areas

• Cool overnight conditions may affect the health of people, animals and plants.

• Veld fires tend to be rampant during this period and can destroy vast tracts of land and property as well as pose a threat to human and animal life.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

• Please ensure that vulnerable members of society are kept warm.

• Poultry producers should note that broilers are sensitive to temperature variations and therefore need to be checked regularly and adjustments made.

• Farmers in areas prone to ground frost should under-take frost prevention measures such as overhead irrigation of crops.

• Keep warm especially during the night and early morning.

• Construct fire-guards that are at least 9 metres wide and free from any debris or combustible matter (anything that can burn).

• Do not burn grass; use it as stock feed through hay-bailing, or for thatching and bedding for poultry.
