Caps United Dismisses Some Senior Players Over Strike
Castle Lager Premier Soccer League giants, Caps United have fired some of their senior players after strike action on Sunday which delayed a league match against Cranborne Bullets.
The dismissed players include:
- 1). Devon Chafa,
- 2). Denis Dauda,
- 3). Clive Augusto,
- 4). Ronald Chitiyo and
- 5). Rodwell Chinyengetere.
The players were protesting over poor salaries and unpaid bonuses. They reportedly did not meet at the team hotel but grouped at a different location.
They only arrived at the National Sports Stadium with private vehicles thirty minutes after the scheduled kick-off and did not hold a warm-up session.
United went on to lose the encounter 2-0 courtesy of a brace from Brian Muzondiwa.
