It was not an easy journey but we thank God that we are back and the operation was a success. It was a very difficult time for me with two patients in the ICU but I thank God it was a success. And I would like to thank my uncle for coming in to my rescue after his father back tracked in the last minute.

Hwami said:

Donating my liver was a tough decision but It had to be made so that we save my nephew’s life.

Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Honourable Kindness Paradza was among the people who welcomed Leon at the Robert Mugabe International Airport. He said:

I am so happy that Leon is now back and fit and the procedure went on very well and I must thank His Excellency the President for paying all the medical bills through the department of social welfare, it shows the president is a caring president.

Leon’s grandmother, Virginia Chinogwenya said she was so happy that her grandchild “and my brother are back and both operations were successful it can only be God.”

Leon spent three months in the hospital. The surgery was conducted in 17 hours.
