Woman Drowns With Her 11-Month-Old Baby While Crossing Limpopo River

An unidentified woman drowned together with her 11-month-old baby while she was allegedly trying to cross the Limpopo River to enter Zimbabwe at an illegal entry point.

In a statement, seen by Pindula News, ZRP said the woman was being assisted by some men who immediately vanished when the woman drowned. Reads the police statement on the case:

The ZRP is investigating the circumstances in which a foreign national and her 11 months old baby drowned along Limpopo River, Beitbridge on 21/04/22 while being assisted to illegally cross the border into Zimbabwe by some men who were using a boat which then capsized. 

 

The men disappeared soon after the incident.

In a related case, police in Mutorashanga are appealing for information that may lead to the location of a missing child Blessing Bote (02) who went missing from home at Teketeke Farm, Mutorashanga on the 17th of this month. Police urged anyone with valuable information to approach any nearest Police Station.

In another case, a body of a naked male adult was discovered in a maize field at New Stands, Mazowe this Wednesday. Police observed some deep cuts on the right side of the mouth and right ear.

Meanwhile, ZRP Hatfield is investigating a murder case where a body of a yet to be identified male adult was found lying on the tarmac near Puma Service Station, Chadcombe yesterday. Police noted some bruises on the head, left thigh, lower limp and right shoulder.
