Ramaphosa Visits Flood-stricken KwaZulu-Natal

South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to visit flood-stricken parts of KwaZulu-Natal Province this Wednesday 13 April 2022.

Ramaphosa will offer support to affected communities and assess the response of government and civil society to the crisis.

His first port of call will be Pinetown Civic Centre where he will be briefed on the situation in the province by KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala and officials.

Ramaphosa will then travel to meet affected families and inspect the damage to infrastructure in Clermont (eThekwini Metropolitan Municipal Wards 22 and 29), Lindelani (Ward 43), Entuzuma (Ward 43), Emawoti (Ward 53), and Umzinyathi (Ward 3).

Meanwhile, the death toll in the floods in KwaZulu-Natal has risen to 59, eNCA reported.

The KZN government said 45 people died in Durban, while 14 others were killed in Ndwedwe and KwaDukuza.
