Varun Beverages To Expand Operations To Rural Areas

Beverages manufacturer, Varun Beverages plans to expand operations in rural Zimbabwe where it will set up solar-powered outlets.

This was revealed by Varun Zimbabwe’s chief executive, Vijay Kumar Bahl while speaking at the Zimbabwe-Rwanda Investment Conference last week. He said:

Varun beverages has plans to set up outlets in rural Zimbabwe with solar panels fixed on them.

These outlets will be distributed free of cost to the poor families to create employment in rural Zimbabwe.

This will be done besides the distribution of additional 1 500 pushcarts by Pepsi, Varun Beverages in the year 2022.

Varun Beverages has already invested over US$85 million in Zimbabwe.

In October last year, the company commissioned a US$12 million water bottling plant at its Harare operation.

Varun Beverages is one of the fastest-growing beverage companies in Zimbabwe since its launch in 2018.

Its Pepsico franchise in Zimbabwe produces a range of products that include Pepsi, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, 7Up and Aquaclear.
