Zimbabwe Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update: 19 March 2022

Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report issued by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 19 March 2022:

  • 134 New Cases (All local) and 3 Deaths were reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases falls to 299 from 321 (yesterday). 9 of the new cases reported today are from outbreaks detected from schools in Mash West (8) and Manicaland (1).
  • Vaccination Update: 1 154 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 414 140, 903 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 440 844 while 1 079 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 177 033.
  • As of 18 March 2022, @1500hrs there were (57) hospitalized cases: New Admissions (10), Asymptomatic (5), mild to moderate (47), severe (5) and (0) in Intensive Care Units. 14 of the 57 hospitalized were vaccinated and 38 were not vaccinated. 1 543 tests done today (Positivity today was 9.1 %)
  • 397 new recoveries: National Recovery rate goes up 96% & Active cases go down 4 756.
  • As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 244 452 Cases 234 270 recoveries & 5 426 Deaths.
