RBZ Reserve Money As Of 4 March 2022

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has revealed the reserve money supply as of the 4th of March 2022. The central bank said in a statement:

1. Reserve money declined by ZW$79.73 million to ZW$27.13 billion during the week ending 4th March 2022, compared to the previous week’s position of ZW$27.21 billion.

2. The decline in reserve money largely reflected a decrease in required reserves of ZW$180.52 million, which was partially offset by increases of ZW$53.65 million and ZW$47.14 million in currency issued and banks’ liquidity (RTGS balances) at the Reserve Bank, respectively.
