Dynamos Buoyed By FC Platinum Draw - Ndiraya

Dynamos coach Tonderai Ndiraya says his charges are regaining self-belief following a commendable draw against Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium last weekend.

The Glamour Boys host Chicken Inn at the National Sports Stadium this Sunday, with the Gamecocks, however, having a better head-to-head record against DeMbare.

The two clubs have met 18 times in the league since 2011, with Chicken Inn winning six times, while Dynamos has won four times. Eight of the encounters have ended in draws.

Speaking to The Sunday Mail on Saturday, Ndiraya said DeMbare will face Chicken Inn with a good feeling after holding FCP in Zvishavane. He said:

It’s unfortunate we have to play two difficult teams in succession. However, we have a good feeling because of the point we got at Mandava.

That performance has ignited some self-belief among the boys who have been pushing hard throughout the week.

Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas played down the significance of his club’s better head to head record against Dynamos. He said:

Those are just stats, it’s part of history that will count for nothing when we face Dynamos in this fresh assignment.

We just want to go out there and do our thing. Try and get a positive result.

We have been doing well of late, we are creating chances and we just want to put them away.

But we are also aware that we are facing resilient Dynamos with experienced and tough defenders like Jaure (Partson) and Makarati (Frank).

We are just hoping that we will have an edge over them.
