Highlanders Have Elected A New Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer

Highlanders Football Club has elected Fiso Siziba as its new Vice-Chairman while Busani Mthombeni was elected as the new Treasurer.

The elections were conducted on Sunday at the Highlanders Clubhouse.

Fiso Siziba defeated Babongile Sikhonjwa to land the Vice-Chairperson post.

Meanwhile, Busani Mthombeni, a Bosso benefactor for years from his base in South Africa, defeated Xolisani Moyo to land the Treasurer post.

Mthombeni, an ordained pastor, runs a family farming business in Insiza and also leads a financial services consultancy firm in South Africa. Before the election, he said he his committed to moving to Zimbabwe permanently should he be elected into office.

The new officeholders are mandated with tackling the club’s problems and setting a course toward the future.

Highlanders are struggling to attract quality players, a situation attributed to questionable, hasty player personnel decisions and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

And this is in spite of the lucrative sponsorship deal with Sakunda Holdings that should have made the club the go-to club in this region in particular.
