Warriors Receive US$35 000 From FBC Bank

Local financial institution FBC Bank Limited has fulfilled its pledge to give each Warriors player and member of the technical team US$1 000 for every victory they registered at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.

The Warriors only managed a single victory, the 2-1 win over Guinea following losses to Senegal and Malawi which eliminated them from the tournament at the Group Stage.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) said FBC Bank has delivered on its promise to players and the technical team. ZIFA said:

FBC Bank Limited has handed over USD 35K to the Warriors through its partnership with [Sports and Recreation Commission].

Reports suggest that Warriors players are set to get US$20 000 each in allowances and bonuses despite failing to reach the Round of 16.

They are expected to receive more money once the Confederation of African Football (CAF) disburses the prize money for the tournament.
