Over 12.6k Arrested Over Unlicensed, Uninsured, Unregistered Vehicles
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested over 12 600 motorists since the launch of the operation targeting unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured motor vehicles.
Scores of vehicles were moving around without number plates amid a huge deficit in plates at the Central Vehicle Registry. Pindula News presents a police statement on the matter:
The ZRP reports that on 22/01/22, 1 555 arrests were recorded throughout the country under the ongoing operation targeting unlicensed, uninsured, unregistered motor vehicles and non-complying PSV’s. Cumulative arrests now stand at 12 664.
FeedbackThe operation was launched at the backdrop of a surge in the number of crimes committed by assailants using unregistered vehicles.
