AFCON: President Mnangagwa Comments On Warriors Win Against Guinea

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said the senior men football team, the Warriors made the Southern African nation proud by defeating Guinea in their last match of the Group B 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals underway in Cameroon.

The Warriors won the match 2-1, thanks to first-half goals from skipper Knowledge Musona and Supersport striker Kuda Mahachi.

Warriors coach, Knowledge Mapeza fielded a different team on Tuesday and got a positive result. Gerald Takwara was named the TotalEnergies Man of the Match. Commenting on the victory, the president said:

Victory for the Warriors! You have made Zimbabwe proud.

The win, however, was insignificant as far as this delayed 2021 edition of the AFCON is concerned since Zimbabwe was ejected from the tournament following its two losses at the hands of Senegal and Malawi.
