ZERA Defers Reviewing Fuel Prices For January 2022

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has deferred announcing the fuel prices for the month of January 2022 partly because of consultations that are still taking place at Government level.

In a notice issued this Wednesday, ZERA said the January 2022 fuel prices will be announced in due course and in the meantime, fuel operators should use the December 2021 fuel prices. ZERA said:

According to Statutory Instrument 270 of 2019, Petroleum (Petroleum Products Pricing) Regulations, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) is supposed to review and announce fuel prices by the 5th of every month.

However, due to consultations that are taking place at Government level, as we monitor developments in the international oil markets, ZERA will issue a statement on the January 2022 fuel prices after the statutory set date.

Fuel operators are therefore urged to continue trading as per the December 2021 fuel prices while consultations are being finalised.
