Here is the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 01 January 2022:
• 955 New Cases (All local) and 13 Deaths reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases goes down to 1 495 from 1 503 (yesterday).
• Vaccination Update: 5 850 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 129 952; 5 170 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 140 345 while 428 received their 3rd dose bringing cumulative for 3rd dose to 5 623.
• As of 31 December 2021, @1500hrs there were 269 hospitalised cases: New Admissions (15), Asymptomatic 64, mild to moderate 181, severe 21 and 3 in Intensive Care Units.
• 3 593 tests done today (Positivity today was 26.6%)
• 1 841 new recoveries: National Recovery rate remains at 85% & Active cases go down 26 786.
• As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 214 214 Cases 182 411 recoveries & 5 017 Deaths.
